Michał Kwiatkowski and Peter Sagan look like they’ve borrowed their dad’s bikes. But they’re just in an aero tuck as they race into Siena.
Apparently this position is the most aero way to ride but the two didn’t need every second possible as they finished well ahead of their others and Kwiatkowski dispatched Sagan on the climb into Siena to win solo.
The two riders do know each other since the junior days when they were rivals. Sagan turned pro and was a hit from the start but Kwiatkowski’s rise to the top has taken more time and start via the modest Caja Rural team then Radioshack before being poached by OPQS.
Dutch corner, Malaysian style? The crowds are there but only thing Dutch is the rider as fans cheer on Dennis Van Winden of the Belkin team on the climb to Genting Highlands outside the Chin Swee temple gates.
